Appointments to the Mental Illness Foundation
The Mental Illness Foundation is proud to announce the following appointments.
Dr. Martin Tremblay appointed chairman of the Board of Directors
Psychiatrist Dr. Martin Tremblay is actively involved in the Quebec medical community. He is the co-director of Clinique Expertise Neurosciences and practises psychiatry at the CHUM hospital. He is also Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Montreal. He has also been the Foundation’s scientific spokesperson for a number of years.
A member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors since 2004, Dr. Tremblay is very familiar with the Foundation’s achievements and projects. With his psychiatry training and management experience, he is the ideal candidate to help the Foundation carry out the ambitious objectives that it recently set, including the creation of a multiservice centre and the development of a new seniors’ program, among other initiatives.
Dr. Tremblay is succeeding Jocelyne Monty, who will continue to play a major role on the Board of Directors as outgoing chair. The Board members would like to sincerely thank her for her vision, devotion and generosity with respect to the Foundation’s cause.
Jean-Luc Taschereau appointed president of the Foundation
The Foundation also appointed Jean-Luc Taschereau president of the Foundation. This position was created to help the Foundation achieve its ambitious development program.
Mr. Taschereau holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University. During his long career in Bell’s senior management, he built a solid reputation as a manager. In particular, he was responsible for the financial services of major business units and successfully oversaw multifunctional teams working on special projects, which led to major changes throughout the company. He has also been a member of the Foundation’s Board since 2002. Very active in the community, he sits on the boards of directors of several enterprises and is a member of a number of associations.
